About Alexandra Farms
Alexandra Farms is a family-owned boutique grower of romantic, nostalgic garden roses nestled high in the Andes mountains of Colombia. Since 2005, they’ve been dedicated to cultivating flowers with exceptional beauty, fragrance, and performance. Their employees care for more than 85 varieties by hand on 50 acres of fertile land, harvesting more than 42,000 stems of garden roses each day. Certified by Florverde Sustainable Flowers, One Carbon World, and BASC, they proudly grow their award-winning blooms with a commitment to social and environmental responsibility. Available year-round through floral wholesalers worldwide, Alexandra Farms garden roses bring romance and artistry to floral design.
Why Alexandra Farms
- They grow on the fertile savanna high in the Andes mountains of Colombia, northeast of Bogotá, where warm days and cool nights are ideal for garden roses.
- Every stem is grafted, harvested, graded, bunched, and packed by hand. Because their farms sit close to the Equator at about 8,700 feet, their greenhouses need no heating, cooling, or artificial lighting, which lowers their carbon footprint. They fertilize their garden rose bushes with compost and chicken manure.
- Every Alexandra Farms garden rose starts in their trial greenhouse. Each year, they test hundreds of varieties from breeders around the world, each with its own color, shape, and fragrance. Over three to four years, they evaluate the most promising on productivity, vase life, ability to travel well across the globe, and more. Only the very best earn a place in their collections.
Assortments
- More than 85 varieties of garden roses, dahlias, and accent flowers (74 garden roses across four collections, plus 12 dahlias and a selection of accent flowers).
